With the recent NBA date night of the famous American quarterback Patrick Mahomes wife Brittany Matthews and himself, the longtime couple came into the spotlight once again.

Patrick Mahomes is the son of the famous and former major league baseball pitcher, Pat Mahomes. He plays in the National Football League – NFL – for the team of Kansas City Chiefs.
But the relationship of the married duo is the perfect one for any book reader or fantasy lover. Their love is dubbed as everlasting, as they both had it started in high school. They both were friends who went to school together.
Sweet Beginnings
The quarterback went to Whitehouse High School with Brittany Matthews. They started out as friends in the state of Texas and became close as time went on.
Their relationship has an ideal storybook beginning. It all started when Patrick Mahomes’ wife received a rose with a Valentine’s Day card in the year 2012.
With a relationship beginning with friends in 2011, the pair moved on to a more elaborate relationship.
Both were athletes, with Brittany Matthews being a soccer star and performing on her end and the Kansas City quarterback playing baseball and football. Obviously, they both were each other’s biggest fans and dates.
Moving On from School
Although they both moved on to different colleges, their relationship didn’t waver. Brittany had reservations that Patrick may move on to play professional football, and it would be simply amazing to see the man of his dreams live up to as an athlete and a professional player.
It should also be stated that they both have supported each other throughout their lives. Both have been to each other’s sides supporting highs and lows.
Supporting Each Other Through Career Choices
Brittany has supported her husband through his choices and has made it public news. When Patrick decided to forgo his eligibility as a college quarterback to enter the draft NFL in 2017, he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was picked 10th and in the first round.
Brittany was over the moon at the news and wrote on her Instagram account that she couldn’t wait for this journey.
It was in the very next month that she herself landed a great deal with Iceland’s soccer team. And as Patrick Mahomes’ wife was at his side on his journey, he was also on Brittany’s side when she officially signed the contract for the team.
Patrick Mahomes and Him Proposing
The American quarterback decided to make Brittany his forever partner in 2020 when he proposed to her.
The proposal came at a special time for both of them, as it was on the same day Patrick was awarded his championship ring in September 2020, at Arrowhead Stadium.
Brittany was ecstatic and took onto her Instagram account to share the proposal and her feelings. It was also in the same month that the couple announced to the world that they would be having their first child.
The child would be a baby girl, and they would name her Sterling. The little angel would arrive in February 2021.
The proposal had a vivid display of a huge collection of white roses at the Arrowhead stadium. He topped the occasion with a candlelit dinner which they had together later that night. Brittany shared photographs of the entire day and events on her social media account, showing how happy she was.
“My heart is so full! I love this man so incredibly much and today was so so special!,” Brittany wrote on her Instagram account at the time of the proposal. “Couldn’t imagine this day being any more perfect.”

The couple got engaged in 2020 and went on ahead to make it official by tying the knot and marrying each other on 12th March 2022.
Both the couple made it official in the beautiful location of Maui, Hawaii with close acquaintances surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the location.
Patrick Mahomes wore a gray suit and Brittany wore a gorgeous white gown. Both were only 26 years of age at the time and shared their feelings and photographs of the time over their social media account. The wedding also had their one-year-old daughter with them, Sterling Skye.
The quarterback’s younger sibling, Jackson Mahomes was the best man and doing the duties of the groomsman was Travis Kelce, Patricks’ teammate. Brittany had Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, as her bridesmaid.
Reactions After the Proposal and Marriage
As was expected, both the couple were very satisfied with each other and happy. Patrick later admitted that he was nervous and described his feelings as equal to playing his first game in the super bowl.
The NFL star gave an interview at the time of proposing to KCSP 610 Sports Radio. He compared the two moments as,
“You don’t think it’s going to be nerve-racking when you’ve been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, man, your heart’s racing. I promise you that.”
Things Going Forward
Things have only been escalating since Patrick’s win in the Super Bowl and their proposal and marriage. Especially for Patrick, his life has been on the uptrack.
He extended his contract to one of the largest in the industry, with a $450 million extension including a $140 million injury guarantee. In his defense, Patrick has been with the team since 2017.
The couple is also very happy with their marriage and their firstborn child. Sterling is ever-present on their social media accounts and is a beacon for the married couple.
Brittany along with her husband share a home in Kansas, Missouri. They have two dogs as their partners and support each other through thick and thin.
This was highlighted especially when her husband won the Super Bowl in the pandemic year and lost the Super Bowl in 2021.
