Jackie Overton posed as Samuel Jacob Cooper on Twitter to catfish reality television star Meri Brown in 2015.
The catfisher succeded in her plans as she successfully initiated a relationship with Meri, their relationship lasted for six months. In order to execute her plans, Jackie posed as Samuel, a wealthy businessman in his early forties. He was seemingly the perfect person for Meri as she had just gone through a divorce and was very lonely and confused about her life.
During their relationship, Meri met with Samuel aka Sam's alleged assistant. Jackie had framed Sam's profile as a successful multiple business owner and a catholic vegan person. The assistant Meri met in California was actually Jackie herself according to Cheat Sheet.
Furthermore, Sam also planted bad things about Meri's family and her ex-husband Kody Brown into her head during their relationship. According to The List, Meri believed in the lies and started pushing Kody away from her life, she later realized the person she should have pushed away was actually Sam aka Jackie instead of her ex-husband.
Everything came to an end after six months of a flirty and romantic relationship after Meri discovered Sam was actually a woman named Jackie. She immediately ended the relationship and in retaliation Jackie released several of Meri's private images and voice messages publicly through her blog. Jackie also published two books under her alias, Samuel Jacob Copper, both books are available on Amazon.
