TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The panel of judges at the 2015 West Java Film Festival has announced a short film entitled ‘Lembar Jawaban Kita’ (Our Answer Sheet) as the best cinema at the festival. The film depicts how elementary students are cheating during national exams.
The film by Sofyana Ali Bindair with Traffic Light Picture, Bandung also snatches the best director award.
Edi Soes, a member of the festival organizer said that the Rp242.5-million film festival also announced winners for best story (Divergen), best camera man (Ade Losmojos in ‘When the Wind Talk to The Cloud’, and best film poster (Gadget).
Winners of the awards are selected from 237 films that were submitted in only three-week submission period. The Festival Program Director Aria Kusumadewa said he was amazed by the high interest shown by the participants.
“I believe that the embryo of the national films exists in West Java. From my experience in making indie film, I have never seen something like this,” Ari commented on the spirit.
