Nobody can accuse Anthony Edwards of being short on confidence.

The Minnesota Timberwolves star helped preserve his team's season with a 105-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday. Minnesota still trails 3-1 and will need to win Game 5 at home to shift the series back to Dallas, which is exactly what Edwards told Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons will happen.

"What am I supposed to say? I'm supposed to say, 'we're going to lose Game 5?' No, I'll never say that," Edwards told reporters (seven-minute mark). "Micah Parsons, you know, he was rocking the AE1's and I told him, he wear a size 14, I'll bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6."

Parsons was in attendance with a Luka Dončić jersey, although he was also wearing Edwards' signature shoe.

The pair met up after the game:

Telling people in opposing arenas he will be back is turning into something of a pattern for Edwards in these playoffs, as he did something similar during Minnesota's second-round series against the Denver Nuggets.

As Isabel Gonzalez of CBS Sports noted, Edwards told locker room staffers in Denver's Ball Arena following the Nuggets' win in Game 5 that he would see them again for Game 7 after the Timberwolves win Game 6.

That is exactly what happened, and Minnesota ended up winning that decisive contest on the road against the reigning champions as well.

Now the team is attempting to become the first in NBA history to overcome a 3-0 deficit and took the first step with a road win on Tuesday. Edwards just missed a triple-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists and will likely need to continue playing at such a level if the Timberwolves are going to extend the series.

And if he is going to bring Parsons those shoes for Game 6.
