Valentina Doerre Torres's Women's Track Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

My name is Valentina Doerre Torres and I am a runner at Boston Latin School. I am extremely passionate about running as well as learning, both being things that I love. Ever since eighth grade, when I joined a track team, I have been completely enamored with running.

Over the course of my running, academic, and leadership careers I have improved and pushed myself to do the best I can, whether that be dropping time off my 800 meter, striving to get a higher GPA, or volunteering for my community. One other thing I love is the outdoors, which I have found is linked to my athletic career as well, I love hiking and have volunteered in the Appalachian mountains. This experience changed my view of running and athletics, now I see it more as a way of life than just a hobby.

I am a very competitive person who always strives for success, whether that be in the classroom or on the track. I am an excellent team player, and believe that fairness is highly important; each person should have an equal opportunity to strive for success and use that opportunity to its full extent. I have the ambition to work hard to achieve my goals; being an excellent runner, an even better student, and a responsible leader.

In the next few years of my life I hope to keep improving and will assuredly work hard to do so. I hope to find a college that will encourage this development and push me to my goals.
