Personal Statement
I would like to continue my wrestling career in college and compete to become the best at whatever level I compete in. With being a college wrestler, I hope to gain experience that would help me become a coach later in my life, hopefully at my high school. College wrestling can also help me in life just like wrestling in high school has. As a Bound Brook wrestler, I am a captain of the historic team that won the Group 1 State Championship in the 2011-12 season. In addition to that feat, I was named to the All-Conference Valley Division team, 2nd team in Somerset County and placed third in District 18 and the Battle at the Beach at Indian River High School in Delaware. Our team has won every tournament we've competed in since 2011. Aside from wrestling, I was also a varsity football player and part of the conference championship team in the 2012 season.
During the 2012-13 season, our team compiled a 23-3 record, losing to the #2 and #3 teams in NJ, as well as the # 18 team in the nation. We peaked as #2 in the state and finished the season #4 in the state and #38 in the nation. We travelled to Rochester, Minnesota to compete in The Clash XI and won our bracket, defeating 4 nationally ranked teams. We also repeated as Group 1 State Champions by beating Paulsboro High school 54-9 in the semi-finals and Hanover Park High School 49-12.
