The Bedford Hotel Review, London, England

The 15 rooms may be different in size and shape, but each is done up in a cosy retro style. Think snug velvet armchairs, botanical wallpapers, heavy curtains, quirky art, white globe bulb chandeliers, statement headboards and a colour scheme of mustard, burnt orange, and forest green hues. Amenities include USB ports, a Nespresso machine, smart HD television, safe, hairdryer, and mini fridge (with complimentary breakfast supplies, but nothing else). The rooms (at least on the upper floor) are remarkably sound proofed, but Wi-Fi can be a little patchy.

The Hypnos beds are supremely comfy, and some rooms come with fabulous roll-top baths. Mine took pride of place in the shiny white and green tiled bathroom in front of a huge gilt-framed mirror. Others have rain showers, and all have Geneva Guild toiletries.
