Yes, Rick Mirer did play quite a bit putting up statistics. Unfortunately, that did not lead to much success for him. The "Golden Boy" from Notre Dame had a solid rookie year. Mirer set rookie records for attempts, completions & yards, along with becoming only the 3rd rookie quarterback since 1970 to start all of his team's games. He finished that season 5th in the AFC with 274 completions and 2833 yards passing. After that, he was never able to duplicate his rookie year success and after four years was shipped out to the Chicago Bears.
