TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Schedule for the Indonesian U-22 National Team for the SEA Games 2023 has been released. The Garuda Squad will open a series of matches in Cambodia against the Philippines.
Based on the schedule released by the organizers on Friday, April 7, Indonesia will start the Group A preliminary round match against the Philippines at Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh on April 29 at 16:00 GMT+7.
Overall, Indonesia will play four matches during the preliminary round.
After fighting the Philippines, they will face Myanmar on May 4, Timor Leste on May 7, and finally, face the host Cambodia on May 10.
The Indonesian national team is said to be in a relatively light group.
The strong team at the 32nd edition of the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia is in Group B which is inhabited by Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Laos.
Football matches will start before the opening ceremony of the 2023 SEA Games which is scheduled to take place on May 5.
Before competing in the biennial Games, the Indonesian National Team will play four trial matches. The first trial will be against Bhayangkara FC on April 11, then twice with the Lebanese national team on April 14 and 16, and after that, they will face another unknown opponent on April 18 or 19.
