Scarab Beetles swarm 90 Day Fiancé wedding

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 5 episode 21 sees Mary and Brandan getting married.

The two reality TV stars had a stunning ceremony which had some viewers getting choked up.

While many fans of the show took to social media to comment on how “chic” the couples’ wedding looked, more were concerned over the swarm of Scarab Beetles that gatecrashed the big day.

Despite the unwanted guests, Mary and Brandan are now officially husband and wife.

Brandan battles with bugs

Some 90 Day Fiancé viewers took to a Reddit thread to comment on how much they were laughing at “millions” of bugs swarming Mary and Brandan’s wedding.

Making his way through a sea of creepy crawlies, Brandan said they were going up his nose. He adds: “We all just evacuate, like screw this.”

Angela, Brandan’s mom, was batting them out of her hair while the TLC show’s production team was also seen trying to cope with the swarm of beetles flying all over them.

The super stressful scenes saw Mary “trying to stay calm,” while the bugs bit her as she described the experience as “chaos.”

Fans fear ‘bad omen’

In the midst of the bug swarm, Brandan said that he’d heard of rain on a wedding day but wondered what “raining bugs” would mean for his marriage.

Shortly after this, he then fretted over losing his wedding ring.

Fans took to a Reddit thread to comment their thoughts on the beetles being a “bad omen.”

One wrote: “If that wasn’t a bad omen I don’t know what is.”

More wrote: “How many literal acts of God does it take to call off a wedding?”

However, another said of Scarab Beetles: “…they actually are symbols of rebirth and resurrection, as well as good luck and fortune. So maybe it was a good thing?”

More think that the unwanted guests signify positivity: “It’s good luck! My parents had thousands of inch worms swinging down from the trees at their wedding reception (which was held in my grandparents back yard) and they’ve been married for 52 years!”
