Roberts, a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame compiled a 286-245 record during his 19 year career.
He won at least 20 games in each season from 1950-1955 as a Philadelphia Phillie and appeared in the 1950 World Serie as one of the Whiz Kids who represented Philadelphia in the fall classic against the Yankees who swept the World Series that year.
Roberts amassed 138 wins during his six 20 win seasons. He pitched at least 300 innings in each of those seasons.
His best season was 1952 when he posted a 28-7 record. Roberts had a proclivity to give up home runs and leads all major leaguers with 505 home runs given up with Jamie Moyer closing in who currently has allowed 498 home runs.
He played in a very unusual game when he pitched the Phillies to a 4-2 win on May 2, 1957 in which no Phillies infielder had an assist.
Roberts was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.
