Queer Eye season 8 arrived at long last on Wednesday, January 24. The all-new episodes are bittersweet for some fans of the show as it’s Bobby Berk’s final season. Emotions ran high for viewers even more when they met this season’s Heros including Tim Keel.
Tim, a KISS megafan, was nominated by his daughter to appear on the Netflix show. The Queer Eye star shared a love for reptiles and rock music in equal measure. Aside from Tim’s hobbies, he had a lot on his plate during his episode as he was his late brother’s sole caretaker.

Taking to the ‘gram following season 8’s release, Tim shared: “I feel uncomfortable with attention on me, but you guys made me feel relaxed and loved. I will never forget this experience and I am just at a loss for words seeing it now.”

Queer Eye star was caregiver
As fans are introduced to Tim on Queer Eye, they learn more about how he’s the primary caregiver for his brother.
Over 30 years ago, Tim’s brother, Tommy, AKA Doody, was in a car accident. He was left with severe brain damage as well as paralyzed on his left side.
Tim said: “I’ve been taking care of him since like ’86. It’s been him and I.”
Melody, Tim’s daughter, explains how her dad’s whole life has been spent taking care of his brother.
She added her dad was “lonely” following his divorce from her mom and hoped his “confidence and self-worth” would grow during the show.
Doody sadly passed away
Taking to Instagram in January last year, Tim shared some words from his daughter following the passing of his brother, Doody.
Melody wrote how her father’s “unwavering love and commitment to him kept us with him for longer than anyone imagined possible.”
Brothers Doody and Tim grew up together. Although Doody was seven years older than Tim, the two were always super close.
Tim explains in his episode when was in the car accident, doctors “didn’t think he’d live” and was in a coma for three months.
He explained how Doody introduced him to KISS and rock ‘n’ roll, adding that he was his “idol” growing up.
Many fans took to the comments section of the post to share their condolences, writing: “I’m so sorry for your loss.”
More commented: “I loved your episode and am sorry for your loss. Grief…that terrible, beautiful thing. Lots of love from Canada headed your way.”
