Parker Epperley's Football Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

Playing Varsity Football and Basketball as a Freshman was a terrific learning lesson that has prepared me for leadership opportunities.  I was able to compete and play with some of the top athletes in the state.  Our football team made it to the State Semi-Final game before seeing our season come to an end.  We were 12-1.  I was fortunate to learn and gain leadership from many seniors on the most winningest team in our schools history!  The challenges and lessons learned being the youngest on such a talented team provided life lessons.  I was selected as the captain of our Varsity Football team as a Sophomore.  This was a great honor, as all of the other captains were Seniors.  I didn't take this role lightly as I developed and implemented a leadership group with the partnership of our local Police Chief.  This group held players on our football team accountable on and off the field.   The leadership group held players to a higher standard and helped them reach that goal.  Our team moto was Respect - Brotherhood - Love.

I have been so fortunate to grow up on a family farm.  This farm has taught me hard work, discipline and toughness.  My grandfather has been a true role model to me with teaching me life lessons on the farm.  He is a former college football player that is one of the most hard working and toughest men I know.  Everything that I have received, has came from hard work.  Nothing is ever easy on a farm.  You learn how to overcome, improvise and succeed.  My grandfather made sure that I learned the right way not the easy way.  You understand quickly while living on a farm if you are not disciplined enough to do the tasks at hand then you will not be successful and neither will the farm.

I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically and academically.  I believe that I not only have the talent to compete on the field but also in the classroom at the college level.  I believe that my work ethic, character, leadership and discipline will make an immediate impact on your program.  I am confident in my abilities but humble in my actions and personality.  When I step between the lines you will not find another player that will compete any harder than I will.  I feel that my qualities not only help me but also help the others around me to be better athletes, students and teammates.
