Olivia Warren's Softball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

My goal is to get a degree in nursing while playing college softball. I have high expectations of myself both in and out of the classroom, and I believe that is evident by my GPA and my success in the sports that I participate in. My coaches will tell you that I am a very hard worker, who will do whatever they ask in order to benefit the team that I am on. Softball is the sport that I love, and I travel an hour and half (one way) in order to play on a high level, competitive team during the Fall and Summer months. I also travel an hour and a half one way, once a week for both hitting and catching instruction with individual coaches. I believe that this also shows my level of dedication to this sport. Although driving three hours, round trip, several days per week can get old, I wouldn't trade it for the world! By branching out and pushing myself to play at a much higher level, I have become a very well rounded player, a very good hitter and have made many relationships with both coaches and players that have helped me become the person that I am today.

If I play on your team, I will bring the same level of commitment and dedication to your program that I bring to any program that I am a part of. Although I know that studying to be a nurse and playing college softball will not be easy, I believe that I have the skills and perseverance to make it happen. While softball is very important to me, getting my degree is even more important to me. I also believe that my ability to work with my teammates and do whatever is needed to make the team better helps make me a good candidate for any program.  I am confident in my softball skills, which you can read about in my stats. Overall, I think I bring a lot of positive qualities to any team that I play on.

I also believe that I am a very well rounded athlete/student/person. I participate on my school's Forestry team and consistently earn State medals for both crosscut and cable splicing. I play high school basketball and have played basketball for as long as I can remember. This year I also had the honor of being chosen to attend Girls' State (sponsored through the American Legion) this summer. I am an active member in our school's Leadership class and have a big role in putting on the assemblies, spirit activities and dances throughout the school year. My grades are very important to me and I work hard to maintain my current 3.8 GPA. Although I am from a smaller school that does not offer your traditional AP courses, I am looking forward to the challenges that college will present in the classroom.
