Personal Statement
I started playing golf at a very young age because my dad and grandpa were very avid golfers. I began taking group lessons at 6 years of age and eventually moved onto private lessons. I enjoyed the sport, so I began competing in different kinds of tournaments. I have competed in the Junior PGA League, the Drive Chip and Putt, and local junior tours such as the Top 50 Scholarship Tour, the Callaway/Meijer Junior Tour, Golfweek Junior Tour and the Golf Association of Michigan Tournaments. I have been the number one golfer on my high school varsity girl’s golf team since I was a freshman and as a sophomore, I was named Captain.
I am an extremely hard worker both academically and athletically. I strive to do my very best in everything I do, this shows in my excellent grades and success I’ve had on the golf course. I am competitive and determined by nature, this pushes me to continue to improve my golf game and maintain my grades.
If I am struggling in a round, I continue to push through and not give up. I keep my emotions steady and take one shot at a time. I’m sincere, respectful, and supportive which make me a good teammate. I believe I can make a significant contribution to a team at the college level.
I would like to pursue an education in a field where I can help people with their health and well-being. I am also looking forward to playing collegiate golf at a school that is well rounded athletically and academically.
