The best way of describing Seether’s “Nothing Left” is as it being anti-establishment in nature. It’s writer, Seether’s own Shaun Morgan, went on a mini-rant when describing its meaning. And his sentiments boil down to two basic ideas. One is that he is not impressed with the leaders of society. And second, it alarms him how people search for popularity via vain pursuits, such as Instagram in his opinion, as opposed to actually trying to contribute something to the world. And as such, it seems that he may be speaking to the latter idea in the first verse and the former notion in the second.
