Nina Garcia: Fashion Critic, Journalist, and TV Personality
Nina Garcia is a Colombian fashion critic and journalist with a net worth of $3 million. She graduated from Boston University and Ecole Superieure de la Mode in France before starting her career in the public relations departments of fashion designers Perry Ellis and Marc Jacobs. Garcia then moved to fashion magazines, working as an assistant stylist and market editor for Mirabella before joining Elle Magazine.
Garcia became Fashion Director of Elle in 2000, a position she held for eight years before becoming Editor-at-Large. She then served as the fashion director of Marie Claire from 2008 to 2012, and was named creative director for the magazine in 2012. In September 2017, Garcia returned to Elle as Editor-in-Chief.
Garcia is also the author of four books on fashion, including “The Little Black Book of Style” and “The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own.” She is best known as one of the judges on the reality television show “Project Runway,” and has also hosted the red carpet for ABC’s Oscar telecast.
In early 2019, Garcia underwent a preventative double mastectomy after being diagnosed with carrying the BRCA gene, which carries a higher risk of contracting breast cancer. She is married to David Conrod, CEO of Focus Point Private Capital Group, and has two children.
