Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham turned himself in to Miami Beach Police on Monday after being charged with assaulting a Hilton Bentley hotel worker on July 21, according to NBC Miami on Tuesday.
The Eagles released the following statement on Tuesday, per Dave Zangaro of CSN Philly: "We are aware of the recent incident involving [Bradham]. We have been in contact with Nigel and the proper authorities. Due to the ongoing legal process, we will have no further comment at this time."
"I am confident my name will be cleared," Bradham said, per Dave Zangaro of CSN Philly.
Bradham refused to go into detail about the incident, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Per NBC Miami, according to statements made to authorities, "a group of six people started arguing with the employee over the length of time it took to bring them an umbrella they had paid for." The altercation became physical, and a glass bottle was reportedly broken on the back of the employee's head.
The six people then left the scene, though a phone left behind and a receipt that showed Bradham paid for the umbrella with his credit card were submitted as evidence.
