Trevor Lawrence's massive contract announcement on Thursday led to some speculation regarding the possible extensions of other quarterbacks around the league.
The Jacksonville Jaguars handed Lawrence a five-year deal worth $275 million, putting him in a tie with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow as the highest-paid player in the NFL on an average annual basis at $55 million per year (h/t Over The Cap).

Sources says they are giving the former No. 1 pick a 5-year extension worth $275M — $55M a year — with $200M guaranteed and $142M fully.

Lawrence's agent Jay Courie of @mgcsports did the deal. 💰
With Lawrence locked up, fans shifted their focus towards a group of quarterbacks that haven't been given long-term extensions from their teams just yet. This includes Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys, Tua Tagovailoa from the Miami Dolphins, and the Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love.
Joe Schad @schadjoeWow. $55 million a year for 5 years for Trevor Lawrence.

How does this impact Tua talks?

Obviously Tua will be 50+
Tom Ernisse @DolphinsTalkTomLook folks, as much as we have been pounding the table for Tua's deal to get done because of the market.. well, we know Tua's number has gone up based on comparables.

Lawrence getting 5yrs/275M, $200M guaranteed and $142M at signing is now Tua's FLOOR#GoFins @DolphinsTalk
Reason @the_real_reasonTua Tagovailoa has been undoubtedly better the last two years than Trevor Lawrence.

This is again, like I've said, something that Grier and the Dolphins shouldn't let happen before Tua's deal because it justifiably so sets his market even more.

Get Tua's done Grier, you're now…

Ryan Wood @ByRyanWoodAnother domino in the QB market. And each makes it clearer, Jordan Love's extension this summer will be north of $50M/year.
As Prescott is entering the final year of his current deal with Dallas, he told reporters on May 22 that "I don't play for money" and could end up playing out the remainder of his contract without an extension (via Patrik Walker of the team's official website).
Meanwhile, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed to the media on June 5 that Tagovailoa's representatives and Miami's front office were in the process of negotiating a contract.
Things appear to be trending in a positive direction with Love, who responded with a simple "yes" when asked on Tuesday if he was optimistic about potentially receiving a new deal before training camp starts on July 22 (per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic).
With Lawrence's contract extension official, the clock is ticking for several other quarterbacks that are searching for a long-term deal before the season begins.
