TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police held a roll call for a police operation dubbed "Operasi Lilin" or 2022 Lilin Jaya Operation to secure Christmas and the 2023 New Year at Lapangan Cawas, south of Monas (National Monument), Jakarta, Thursday, December 22, 2022.
The Head of the General Application Section (Kabagpenun) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Chief Commissioner Nurul Azizah, said that there were 2,195 joint personnel from the military (TNI), National Police, and related agencies deployed in this roll call.
"It is planned that the roll call will be attended by Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono, who will act as the inspector of the ceremony," said Nurul on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
Thousands of joint military and police troops have been prepared since 05:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time) at the Lapangan Cawan, south Monas. The rally is planned to be held at 09:00 WIB. Starting with a rehearsal first.
Nurul stated that this roll call consisted of all the task forces in the National Police, such as the Public Relations Task Force, the Law Enforcement Task Force, the Operations Assistance Task Force, the Health Service (Bayankes) Task Force, and the preventive and pre-emptive police unit.
In addition, the National Police deployed 330 units of support vehicles, such as helicopters, Mobile Brigade (Brimob) tactical vehicles, including horse unit (Turangga), K-9 troops, and SAR. "Later there will be an embedding of an operation lilin sign by the military commander," said Nurul.
Furthermore, delivery of the roll call mandated by the ceremonial inspector. According to Nurul, the National Police is involving all forces to secure Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023, one of which is the Public Relations Task Force.
"The involvement of the Public Relations Task Force as a means of communication and informing the public, regarding the implementation of 2022 Lilin Jaya Operation. The sooner the public receive information, the better. This is a preventive measure," said Nurul.
