Personal Statement
My name is Michael Blake II. I attend Wake Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina. My primary positions on the field are Linebacker and Running Back. I have been passionately playing football since the age of 5. I have had the privilege of growing up in a football family atmosphere, which is where I found my passion. My Mom and Dad have been my biggest fans and influence in life and playing football. They have both given me all the support and love to help me move on to the next level.
I have been an active Boy Scout since the age of 8, and I’m currently working on achieving the Eagle Scout rank, which is the highest available rank in the Boy Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts has provided me the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships, and it’s helped me learn positive & rewarding life lessons that I carry with me on and off the football field. Also, through Boy Scouts, I’ve learned what a privilege it is to volunteer and help in my community. I also serve my community by working as a lifeguard for the City of Raleigh. As I further my education in college while playing college football, I plan to use my opportunity as a platform to help others.
Since starting my football journey, I have been a starter every season on every game level, including starting varsity as a sophomore. Through this period, I have achieved multiple awards and MVP achievements. This season, I have achieved two-game MVP honors, one offensive MVP, and one defensive MVP. These achievements and hard work have earned me as being showcased as a recruited prospect in North Carolina. Additionally, I have advanced through many football camps, such as the U.S. National Football Team and the Football University Camp to the FBU Top Gun Showcase. While on my path with football, I may have not always been the fastest or the biggest player, but that has always fueled me to be better and not limit myself. I AM the most committed and hardest working player from morning to night.
I plan to attend college to earn a degree in Science/Biology and play college football in the future. From there, I will achieve my ultimate goal, which is to play at the highest level in the NFL. It will be an honor and a dream to continue playing this great game in college, help my team become champions, and become the best we can be. You will NOT find a more dedicated player to this game, and you will NOT be disappointed.
