Personal Statement
I contribute leadership, hustle, and relentless grit to do what it takes to win on the field.
My name is Meghan McElroy I am a 2022 attacker for Blacksburg High School and Valley Select. My drive doesn’t end on the field, I am just as committed to my education. I strive to play at the highest level possible while earning a degree that would allow me to pursue a job in the medical field.
Throughout most of my youth, I played as a point guard in basketball until I took up lacrosse full time in 5th grade. I’ve had a stick in my hand ever since. My background as a point guard gave me a unique perspective of how I see the field and hone in on my re-defending abilities. I learned from my dad’s college lacrosse career and saw what it took to become a sedulous competitor. Over the years of my career, I've worked to become a true leader and a selfless teammate. I hope to be able to further learn and grow with the sport to be the best athlete I can be.
