On September 25, 1990, Paul Gutman, Matt’s dad, died in a plane crash when Matt was only 12 years old. Speaking about this profession, Paul was the owner and executive vice president of a textile company named Pressman-Gutman which was doing well.
There is a post on Matt's Instagram handle on September 25, 2018, where he said that 28 years ago on this day the little Cessna dropped out of the sky after take-off in Georgia where his father died. Paul died when he was 42 years old. He frequently shares photos of his father.
