Mary joined First Baptist Church, Logan Park (FBCLP) at an early age and was a faithful member for over 70 plus years. Everyone loved her homemade rolls and that “special” touch she added to her baked chicken recipe.

Her compassion was also reflected in her caring for many of her family members. For many years she hosted the annual Titustown Golf Tournament. Her home was always open to many family members and friends.

She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed working with younger children as evidenced by her involvement in several children/youth activities that included the Vacation Bible Schools, Youth Choir, and the Titustown Tots and Teens Child Care Center. Later in her life, she served as a help care provider for the Shapiro family.

Mary’s memory will forever be cherished by her children: Cynthia Brooks (Albert Sr.); Roland Thornton (Trina); and Keith Thornton (Carmen). Grandchildren: Albert Jr. and Kenneth Brooks; Stephanie Thornton; Great Grand kids, Asher Braxton and Bentley Brooks and a host of  nieces, nephews, family and friends.
