Marc Bell: Entrepreneur, Producer, and Investor
Marc Bell, a Babson College accounting and New York University real estate master’s degree holder, is an American entrepreneur, producer, and investor with a net worth of $500 million. He founded Marc Bell Capital Partners LLC in 2003 after working for various companies. Bell was formerly the CEO of Globix Corporation, a Fortune 100 corporate Internet solutions company, and FriendFinder Networks, a social networking and online personal ads company that owned over 48,000 websites with more than 500 million users at its peak.
Bell’s produced movies and musicals, including “Jersey Boys,” which earned him a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2006, and “August: Osage County,” which won him a second Tony for Best Play. His films include “Beware of the Gonzo,” “Sympathy for Delicious,” “Barry Munday,” and “Hesher,” in which Natalie Portman starred.
Bell invested in several nightclubs and restaurants in New York City and taught several cases as an adjunct professor at Florida International University. He also serves on the NYU School of Medicine Board of Trustees and established a foundation that supports medical research and education, donating to schools and hospitals. The Bell Scholarship, awarded by the foundation, absolves graduates of their debt when they graduate and choose public service careers.
