When is the Europa League last-16?

Unlike in the Champions League, all of the Europa League last-16 ties will be played on the same night. The first legs are scheduled for Thursday, March 9 with the return fixtures due to take place one week later, on Thursday, March 16.

Arsenal have a relatively kind schedule around those dates. They host Bournemouth on Saturday, March 4 and then travel to Fulham — another London team — in between the first and second legs of their European tie against Sporting.

After the second leg in north London, they host Crystal Palace on Sunday, March 19. So Mikel Arteta’s men won’t be doing too much travelling around their European commitments.

United, on the other hand, do not have it quite as easy. They travel to Liverpool on Sunday, March 5 — just four days before their first leg match at Old Trafford — and host Southampton on Saturday, March 11. After their European away day on March 16, they travel to high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, March 19.
