Andy Bassich and Denise Becker are a couple on Life Below Zero who fans have gotten to know closely. They battle tremendous challenges as they try to survive in a sub-zero-degree environment. One of them was when they had to flee from a rising river in the season 22 premiere, but now they’ve gone quiet.

Where is Andy on Life Below Zero?
Andy Bassich is still on Life Below Zero but simply didn’t feature on the last two episodes. He starred in the season 22 premiere, when he and Denise had to flee from rising rivers and save their dogs.
He was last pictured in Calico Bluff, where he resides, in August 2023. Andy is currently busy hunting, growing his own food, fishing and living a subsistence lifestyle, which he’s done since 2008.
Andy, who lives with his 25 sled dogs, has faced countless rumors about what he’s up to, but as of just four months ago, he was happily in a relationship with Denise Becker and living in an off-grid property.
What happened to Andy Bassich?
Denise and her partner were not present on Life Below Zero for most of 2021, as Andy was recovering from a hip injury. This meant that the couple didn’t take part in filming for six months.
He told Republic World Andy could not get the treatment he needed in Alaska and so he headed down to Florida to get the treatment he needed. Andy then returned to the show on crutches.
However, it looks like he has since recovered fully and that him and Denise have gone back to their usual Alaskan lives. Luckily for Andy, Denise’s medical background meant she could help him get better.
When Andy starred on the show in 2020, he told cameras: “I’ve basically lost a lot of my life due to an injury that will probably affect me for the rest of my life.”

Fans notice he ‘disappeared’ with Denise
Andy and Denise starred on Life Below Zero with their daughter, but the mother and child went mushroom hunting without him on a recent episode.
One fan wrote: “Where was Andy Bassich (sic) on the last couple of shows? After the ice melt, he and Denise were there, then her daughter shows up and they go mushroom hunting! No mention of Andy.”
Another was simply happy they’re back and penned: “Denise, oh my she’s [their daughter] beautiful!! Thank you for sharing more of your personal life with us. So glad y’all are back on.”
On Life below Zero last night they had 2 segments with Andy Bassich and Denise Becker where her daughter was highlighted and guess what her daughter's name is Ava Becker Kosak
