On Friday, Sean Payton announced Vaccaro will start serving his suspension in Week 14, per the team's official Twitter account.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported on Nov. 10 that Vaccaro was facing a suspension, with ESPN's Adam Schefter (via NFL on ESPN) noting that Vaccaro tested positive for Adderall.
Vaccaro has continued to play since the news broke and was still awaiting final word from the league.
The loss of Vaccaro for four games is a huge blow for a New Orleans defense that has struggled in 2016.
The Saints enter Week 14 ranked 31st in pass defense, allowing 277 yards a game.
Vaccaro has missed one game this season—against the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 26—because of an ankle injury. In the 10 games he has played, the 25-year-old has 61 tackles, two forced fumbles, four passes defensed and two interceptions.
The Saints will likely turn to veteran Roman Harper as their starting strong safety.
