She was born on August 14, 1939 in Staunton, Virginia, to parents named Harold and Dorothea Sander Bird. She was an only child. Sander was her mother’s maiden name before she married. Before her mother was married, her mother went by her maiden name, which was Sander.
It was in the year 1960 when she tied the knot in Staunton with Walter “Bud” Vesper, and he is still with us now.
She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren, her five grandchildren, Nikki (Justin) Lutz, Brett Konrad, Alec (deceased wife, Samantha) Vesper, Meredith (Cody) Vesper, and Jonathan (deceased wife, Cece) Vesper; and her four children, Craig (Sherry) Vesper of Joliet, Michele (Ron) Lynch of Jacksonville, Brad (deceased wife, Kim) Vesper of Jacksonville, and Denise (Stefan She was the final member of her family to pass away before she did.
Kathryn was a homemaker who used to fill her spare time by offering her medical skills to the community in the form of charity work. Because she was so devoted to her family, she never missed a single event that involved any of her descendants, whether it be her children, grandchildren, or even great-grandchildren. She was always there for them.
On the afternoon of Saturday, August 12, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a funeral service held at Williamson Funeral Home. After this, the body of the deceased person will be transported to Diamond Grove Cemetery to be laid to rest.
