John P. Perdue, Jr. – Metropolitan Funeral

John Pete Perdue, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 .  He was born December 23, 1949 to the late Ruth & John Perdue, Sr. (Radford, Virginia).  He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Akers, Inez Stith and Ardelia Perdue.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Sharron of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Tonya Corley (Gavin) of Norfolk Virginia; two sons, Marlowe Benton (Sharronna) of Virginia Beach;  and Lamont Mitchell (Cherelle) of Norfolk, Virginia; two brothers Sidney Hall and Douglas Perdue and one sister, Brenda Barrow; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

John, affectionately known as Buster, was educated in the Portsmouth Public School System.  He was a diehard Miami Dolphin fan and a devoted family Man.  He was always positive, uplifting and willing to lend a hand, even when he was dressed from head to toe.  He believed in keeping a close bond with his childhood friends.  Family and friendship meant everything to him.  Even with his progressive illness, he always kept a vivacious smile and found time to motivate and inspire others with an encouraging word.

John was athletically inclined and swimming and diving was his forte under the tutoring of coach Randall at the Cavalier Manor swimming pool.  He was a very dapper gentleman who always dressed to impress. John was a very well known man and he showed everyone love.  He was Mr. Funny Man with a great sense of humor.

John Perdue was a great man who was loved by many and will be missed by all.  He was nonjudgmental and loved and excepted everyone no matter what. We will miss the way he made us laugh and the wisdom he bestowed upon us all.  He taught us all a lot of things except how to live without him.
