Two years later, the young man had learned the art of pantomime to a fault and was appearing in many plays at Edinburgh's King's Theatre. In addition to the theater, Jack was very interested in opera singing. Both of his parents supported the career he was moving into gradually.

Lowden eventually became a member of the Amateur Operatic Society and joined them on stage. Later, he developed both his vocal and dramatic abilities at Glasgow's highly esteemed Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, from which he graduated in 2011.
