Hotel Celio Review, Rome | Travel

The guest rooms—named after Roman emperors and Renaissance artists—are surprisingly upscale and impeccably maintained. Standard and Superior rooms, already rather cramped, seem even more so due to the somewhat busy décor and sheer amount of furniture (each room has an armoire, desk, TV cabinet with VHS player, minibar, trouser press, side tables and floor lamp).  The bathrooms come in marble and mosaic, with enclosed showers, products and plush towels.

Those who are sensitive to street noise may want to opt for a room facing the internal courtyard, and those who need more room to stretch out should choose one of the two suites, which are larger and also offer whirlpool tubs, Bang and Olufsen TVs, and, in the case of the Pompeiian Suite, three private terraces overlooking the Colosseum.
