Officials said that there were undeclared milk ingredients in select bags of Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos after the bags were accidentally filled with Nacho Cheese Doritos.
For some consumers, these ingredients could lead to serious or life threatening allergic reactions according to an announcement from the Food and Drug Administration.
At this point, the impacted products are 3 and 1/8 ounce bags of the Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos with a "Guaranteed Fresh" date of Aug. 9, a UPC code of 28400-42119 and a manufacturing code of 2711 152 05 or 2712 152 05.
The specific products were sold in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
At this point, there is no report of illness in the areas where the chips were sold and Frito-Lay is working with the FDA.
Consumers with the impacted chips can return the product to a retailer for a full refund or contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477.
