Emma L. Phillips departed this life on 2/15/2019. Known as Louise to most of her family and friends and “Weezy” to those closest to her, was born on 7/30/1942, in Norfolk County to the late William and Elizzie Mae Gregory. She attended Crestwood High School and later worked and retired as a Nursing Care Partner for Sentara Healthcare. Praise and worship was instilled in Emma at a young age, she was a devout member of the United House of Prayer for All People until she was called home.
On November the 10th, 1960 she married the love of her life, the late Willie “Frog” Phillips. Their 57 year union brought forth two beautiful children, Jacqueline Smith and Troy Phillips (Tevene). Four grandchildren, Jamie Phillips, Kowanda Johnson, Ciara Smith and Troy Phillips Jr. and three great-grandchildren JaiLynn Sparrow, Zakiya Cornish-Phillips and Karmyn Johnson whom she leaves to cherish her memories. Also left to cherish her memories are brothers, Elder William “Booster” Gregory (deceased, Spouse Vivian), Deacon Ivy James Gregory (Carolyn), Apostle Charles E. Gregory Sr.(Joyce), Clint Gregory (Vanessa), Earl “Bud” Gregory (deceased), Deacon Milton Gregory Sr. (Janet) and Steve Gregory (Sandy). Aunt Mable Sears, Uncles Alton Mitchell, Terry Mitchell, Charlie Gregory and Great Uncle Charlie Mitchell, Brothers and Sisters in Law William Phillips Jr. (deceased, Spouse Shirley), Virtley Mae Gregory (Carl), Shirley Phillips and Melvin Phillips, a special niece Kimberly Stith and Cousin Horace Gregory as well as a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom will all miss her dearly
