1. Emmy Rossum plays Fiona Gallagher
Fiona Gallagher is the eldest among the Gallagher six children. Due to her parent's negligence, she has most of the responsibility on her shoulders.
She left her high school in her junior year to fulfill all her responsibilities. To support her five siblings she works a few dead-end minimum-wage jobs.
2. Jeremy Allen White as Lip Gallagher
Lip Gallagher is the second Gallagher child who is the most academically minded. Gallagher was a straight-A student in high school.
He established many making schemes for earning money to help the Gallagher clan survive which include running an ice cream truck and taking the SATs for classmates for a fee.
Later on, Lip is one of the rare students capable of achieving a perfect SAT score, and offers an internship at the robotics lab at the University of Chicago. Lip has a strong bond with Ian and is the first one to identify that Ian is gay.
3. Cameron Monaghan as Ian Gallagher
Ian Gallagher is the third of the Gallagher children. Though initially believed to be Frank's son, a DNA test reveals that he is actually the son of Frank's brother.
At the beginning of the series, Ian works at the Kash and Grab grocery store and participates in Army JROTC.
4. Ethan Cutkosky plays Carl Gallagher
Ethan Cutkosky plays the role of Carl Gallagher who is the second youngest Gallagher child. Carl shares a room with Lip and Ian.
At school, Carl is often in trouble for attacking other students. At his younger age, he displays several psychopathic tendencies. He also shows concern and care for his dad Frank and is one of the few children to call him Dad.
In the show, they are the second and third youngest of the bunch but in real-life Ethan is older than Emma by a few weeks and they have remembered a few moments from Shameless according to their age.
In Entertainment Weekly they shared the moments spent together. Emma and Ethan along with their couple of friends went to Lollapalooza, the music festival in Chicago. They enjoyed themselves a lot and were having quality time.
Kenney and Cutkosky spent a lot of time teasing each other on set as they were only 9 or 10 years old when they began filming the show Shameless.
5. Liam Gallagher
Liam Gallagher is the youngest child of the Gallagher family. Liam role is portrayed by many actors including Christian Isaiah, Brennan Kane Johnson and Blake Alexander Johnson, Brenden, and Brandon Sims in different seasons.
Liam is an African-American and was initially thought to be the result of his mother's supposed affair with an AA sponsor, parole officer, or bouncer, though a DNA test reveals that he is Frank's son.
