It is easy to see why the confusion occurs, as both the coaches are from Louisiana. Another reason why they are mistaken as father and son might be because they are related to the same field, American football.
Eddie Robinson is the most successful college football coach in FCS history. In 1997, he was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, the same year he retired. He was the head coach at Grambling State University for 56 years.
According to USA Today, the natural son of Eddie Robinson, who played for him at Grambling and later worked under him as an assistant, died in 2013. He died at the age of 70 after complications from a heart transplant.
