Dr Pimple Popper has seen a lot of old cysts in her time, and patient Carla has had her head cysts for 35 years! Despite the struggles, she remains upbeat and is one of the doctor’s jolliest patients.
The TLC show has provided popaholics with endless hours of pops and squeezes. As we wait for the new season to be announced, let’s take a look back at the time Dr Pimple Popper removed Carla’s 35-year-old head cysts.
Dr Pimple Popper patient Carla has ‘alien’ 35-year-old head cysts
Carla has come to Dr Pimple Popper’s office all the way from Mississippi as she has “5 huge knots” on the back of her head, that she describes as her ‘aliens.’
“I’m scared the things are going to jump right out like a little alien from the movie,” she jokes to her husband.
Her oldest cyst is 35 years old, as Carla jokes they’re like her children. She’s even named them, Big Bertha, Little Bertha, and Wally.
Upon further inspection, Dr Sandra Lee confirms they’re pilar cysts, and she’s ready to do all she can to remove Big Bertha and co!
Big Bertha is the first to be removed
Carla is an avid Dr Pimple Popper watcher, which makes her nervous as she’s seen what can happen. However, she’s ready to get down to business.
The doctor starts squeezing out Big Bertha, who she says looks like “a little rubber ducky.” Cyst number two is a bit messier, with white substance squirting out. However, Dr Lee still thinks it’s cute!
Despite the easy removal, the cyst does have a ‘foul odor’ to it, as Sandra describes the skin has been “stored inside a balloon” for 35 years. We can’t really imagine what that would smell like, but we don’t really want to.

She then goes on to remove the other three and Sandra the popaholic is keen to take a look at her little aliens. The patient even goes ahead to touch and squeeze them. We think Dr Pimple Popper may have an intern on her hands with Carla.
However, she does say her ‘alien’ pilar cysts are “the most disgusting thing she could have ever imagined” in her head.
Good job they’re out now!
