Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay suffered a hamstring injury against the New York Giants in Week 15, and after sitting out in Week 16, he has returned to the starting lineup against the Green Bay Packers.

Slay has developed into a reliable starting corner for the Lions since he was selected in the second round of the 2013 draft. He really started to come into his own during the middle stages of last season, with MLive.com describing his journey around the league as a "shutdown tour."

The Mississippi State product has remained mostly durable since arriving in the NFL. He missed three games as a rookie due to a knee injury. Since then, most of the various ailments he's dealt with have been of the minor variety. He did sit out two games with a hamstring problem this year, though.

Slay's return will be a major boost to the Lions' pass defense as it tries to slow down Aaron Rodgers and company.
