Kaepernicking: the act of kissing one's own bicep in celebration, a gesture made famous by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
After AOL Fanhouse writer David Whitley published a column essentially bashing the signal-caller for having an abundance of tattoos, the 25-year-old emerging star made a statement.
Kaepernick flexed, then pretended to kiss his tatted-up bicep after scoring a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins on December 9.
Kaepernicking was born.
Tebowing was the craze of the 2011 season, and Griffining had a brief stint of fame early in the 2012 campaign.
But Kaepernick, a novelty within the 49ers offense as recently as early November, has led San Francisco to an appearance in the Super Bowl, something Robert Griffin III and Tim Tebow cannot say themselves.
Really, this could just be the start of the Kaepernicking fad.
Apparently, Kaepernicking can be embryonic.
Via the USA Today, students at Nevada, Colin's alma mater, "paid tribute" to Kaepernick during a basketball game in "what was part of the unofficial "World's Largest Kaepernicking Party."
Nike should probably take a look at that creation if it wants a slogan for Kaepernicking.
Not a bad idea, right?
As one can probably imagine, Kaepernicking apparel is already being sold.
With Kaepernick's fame bound to exceptionally increase, it was smart for the 49ers quarterback to trademark the word that describes his touchdown celebration.
He'll be doing plenty of Kaepernicking in the future.
