Charlotte-Mecklenburg police confirm that Bengal's WR Chris Henry died at 6:30 AM, one day after suffering serious injuries sustained falling out of a moving pick up truck. The fall came after a domestic dispute between Henry and his fiancee.

He allegedly jumped into the back of her pickup truck as she drove away.

Henry was hospitalized at a Charlotte Hospital last night with "life-threatening" injuries. The rising Bengal's star was already suffering from a major injury to his forearm, one that was sustained in their Nov. 9 game against the Ravens.

Henry was in Charlotte to discuss the plans for his future wedding with his fiancee.

While Henry is largely known for his checkered career in the past, it was believed by Bengal's president Mike Brown and coach Marvin Lewis that, not only had Henry gone through the measures to become a better person off the field, but that he was also ready to return to the team as a vital part to their offensive attack.

Henry was released from the team in 2008 after multiple arrests that eventually led to an eight game suspension in April of 2008.

Injuries to Chad Ochocinco, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and Andre Caldwell, however, left the Bengals with few options and they opted to re-sign Henry.

The re-signing came only after former Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Irvin counseled Henry on "cleaning up his act."
