If you mention Charles Holloman, everyone will say he was a good man. He was a loving husband to Mary Alice Holloman for 48 years. He was a doting father who spoiled his three daughters Marquita Fulford, Shawnetta Holloman, and Jennell Moore. He was known as “pop-pop” or “grandpaw” to his five grandchildren. He was also a loving brother to his siblings and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
But to his immediate and extended family, he was known as “The Paparazzi”. He was always taking pictures of his family no matter where he was. In fact, many of the photos shown today were taken by old Paparazzi himself!
Not only was he a loving family man, but he was an excellent educator as well. He was a P.E. teacher for the Virginia Beach Public School system for 30 plus years. In that time, he positively touched the lives of thousands of students. This was always displayed if he was in the mall, at the grocery store, or anywhere in public. Someone always came up to him saying he had taught them in his P.E. class. It was usually those very challenging students because they remembered how patient and caring he was with them. He always provided them with encouraging words to try and help them get back on track.
Needless to say, Charles Holloman will be truly missed by so many. So let’s celebrate his life and all of the happy memories we have of him.
