Early Life and Education
Casey Cott was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio in 1992. He grew up in a family of five with his mother, father, older brother, and younger sister. His father is a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot turned investment manager and his brother is an actor who has appeared on Broadway and television. Cott attended Chagrin Falls High School before enrolling at Boston University. He later transferred to the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama where he graduated in 2016.
Casey Cott’s Acting Career
Casey Cott began his acting career in Ohio, appearing in local productions of “Romeo and Juliet” and “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.” He then attended Carnegie Mellon and appeared in school productions as well as regional productions. In 2016, Cott played Moses in a concert reading of Stephen Schwartz’s “The Prince of Egypt.”
Cott was cast as Kevin Keller on “Riverdale” during his senior year of college and had a recurring role during the show’s first season. He was promoted to a series regular for season two and has shown off his singing abilities in several episodes. In 2020, he reprised the role of Kevin Keller in an episode of the “Riverdale” spin-off “Katy Keene.”
Outside of “Riverdale,” Cott guest-starred on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and starred in Sabrina Carpenter’s “Why” music video. He also appeared in the “Instinct” pilot and in his first film, “All the Little Things We Kill,” in 2019. Casey Cott, a New York City resident, got engaged to Nichola Basara in December 2020. In 2017, he was a judge for the Excellence in Theatre Education Award, which recognizes outstanding K-12 theatre educators in the US. He also participated in a Charity Water fundraiser with his brother in April 2020, promising to shave their heads if they raised $10,000. Within hours, they raised over $15,000 and shaved their heads on Instagram Live. Their sister, who works for Charity Water, called them “the best brothers in the world.”
