B.J. Thomas Net Worth
B.J. Thomas, a popular American singer known for his chart-reaching hits of the 1960s and 1970s, had a net worth of $5 million at the time of his death.
Thomas started performing in church as a child and became a member of the Triumphs, a Houston-based band in his teens. After leaving the band, he released a self-titled solo album through Scepter Records, which became an instant hit, catapulting to number eight on the pop charts.
Despite a series of moderate follow-up hits, Thomas failed to reenter the Top Ten until the release of 1968’s gold single, “Hooked on a Feeling.” His biggest hit, “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” was released in 1969 and was a collaboration with Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
Thomas eventually pursued a country career-pop direction at ABC Records and established a country career marked by numerous chart-topping tracks, including “Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.” He switched record companies at a rapid pace but never ceased to create new works.
In April 2013, Thomas released the album “The Living Room Sessions,” which included acoustic arrangements of well-known hits. In March 2021, he announced he was suffering from stage IV lung cancer and died nine weeks later on May 29, 2021, at his home in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 78.
