Personal Statement
I grew up in a military family, with my parents and 2 older siblings. We got stationed in San Antonio 9 years ago and have been here ever since. I started playing basketball in 1st grade and it's pretty much the only sport I stayed with. Always knew I loved the game, always had a bb in my hand. I made the team only as a manager in 7th grade, which pushed me to work harder. I made the 8th grade B team, by 9th grade I was on A team and then a starter in 10th on JV.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. He battled for 6 years before passing fall of my sophomore year. This taught me to depend on my faith in God and also that things you love can be taken away. I spent a lot of my energy on the court. I'm thankful I have basketball.
My goal is to study engineering although I'm undecided as to which area. I am hopeful to play basketball in college and the Euro league, then on to the NBA!
