Becky Palmer Obituary: Mourning The Loss Of A Radio Legend

Longtime radio host and morning show co-host, Becky Palmer’s obituary details have not yet been revealed.

A resident of Syracuse, New York, Palmer departed from this world on May 14th, Sunday, at age 68. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer but successfully recovered from it.

Although Palmer’s family has not announced her cause of death officially, some sources reported that she had recently been diagnosed with a new type of cancer.

Most probably, the newfound cancer diagnosis was Becky Palmer’s cause of death.

Rebecca L. Palmer, more commonly known as Becky Palmer, was born on June 3rd, 1954, to parents, Augustus G. and Betty (Parks) Palmer.

Palmer’s most notable accomplishment was working as a morning show co-host on B104.7 for more than two decades.

In the initial days of her career, she worked on the ‘Ron and Becky Show’ with the late Ron Bee.

The morning show was a huge success and went on to earn a Country Music Association Award in 2004 for ‘Broadcast Personality’ in the medium market category.

After Ron officially decided to retire from the show, Becky found a new co-host, Tom Owens. The show was renamed ‘Tom and Becky Show.’

Thirteen years after her first CMA nomination, Tom and Becky were awarded a nomination for CMA ‘Medium Market Personalities of the Year’ by the Country Music Association.

There were many people who had started questioning the future of the show after late Ron Bee retired, but Becky proved all of them wrong with her passion and determination to keep the show going.

Becky was a constant part of the B104.7 team that went on to win multiple awards and accolades.

The team won an ACM Radio Station of the Year award in 2014, and unlimited CMA and ACM nominations in ‘Personality of the Year’ and ‘Station of the Year’ categories.

After making her morning show the #1 Morning Show in Central New York, Becky Palmer said her goodbyes to the B104.7 team in December 2019.

The reason for her retirement was her deteriorating health.

Becky Palmer obituary will disclose the details of her funeral and memorial service. As per sources, a private service will be held for her close friends and family.

Palmer is survived by her mother, sister, sons, and daughter. Her father, Augustus G. preceded her in death. He began his journey to the next world on February 13th, 2013.

Undoubtedly, Becky earned an indispensable spot in the Central New York Community. She was the first one to introduce Country Music Stars at The Great New York State Fair.

Not only this, she always took out time to give back to her community. Becky volunteered her time and support to organizations such as American Heart Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Upstate Cancer Center.

After retiring, Becky focused on spending time with her family. She took trips around the U.S. and abroad, and her most recent trip was to England and Paris with her mother.

The deceased radio host liked to spend her summers at her home away from home, Lake Titus, NY, and winters in Port Richey, Florida.

Becky’s family and friends remember her as a loving, caring, and compassionate woman. She loved her close ones profoundly and had an infectious laugh that lit up an entire room.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Becky’s life should consider donations to the American Cancer Society.
