American Idol is back in 2022 with a brand new series! Episode 1 kicks off on February 27th and sees the first round of auditions begin. The likes of Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken have found huge success since appearing on American Idol, so the sky really is the limit for contestants auditioning in season 20.
Some of the American Idol season 20 auditions have been released early and therefore fans can get to know contestants including Cole Hallman and Tyler Allen prior to episode 1 airing at 8 pm ET. So, let’s find out more and Tyler Allen.
Meet American Idol’s Tyler allen
Hailing from Mobile, Alabama, AKA the “dirty south”, Tyler is 24 years old and came to American Idol with a tragic story.
The 24-year-old sang Whitney Houston’s I Believe In You And Me during his audition and brought Katy Perry to tears.
According to his Facebook page, as well as being a talented singer, Tyler is the Founder and Managing Director at Aspire Nutrition.
Tyler’s audition
When Tyler first walked into the audition room on American Idol, the judges said that he “walked in like a star” as he came in bringing some great energy.
When asked why he was auditioning that day, Tyler said: “Today is a special day for me I’m dedicating this to my nephew who passed away this past April. Him and his mother were in a terrible accident, they were hit by an 18-wheeler. They died instantaneously.”
Tyler continued: “When Noah passed he was one, he’d just started talking and walking. I never thought I would have to go through something like this with my family.“
Tyler became a rock within his family, making sure everyone is ok. He added that singing brings him comfort and peace and Tyler also chose to sing a song that he used to sing to Noah.
