Amazon Launches Fashion Photo Studio In London; Suki Waterson Is Amazon Fashion’s New Face

Actress and top model Suki Waterhouse is joining Amazon as the face of the internet giant's new fashion photography studio, according to a report at Contact Music.

The online retailer seems to be keen on venturing to different fields in business with the announcement of its new film studio. Now, Amazon is trying to conquer the online fashion world and launches its own fashion photography studio with one of UK's top models, Suki Waterhouse, as the face of the company's new scheme.

Waterhouse helped Amazon to launch the company's luxurious photo studio at Shoreditch in London the previous week, taking over the campaign as the face of said retailer's ever growing fashion business, the Ledger Gazette reports.

Amazon Fashion has been named as the ambassador of the company's European brand for the Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign and will be collaborating with fashion writer Julia Sarr-Jamois and photographer Cass Bird.

Furthermore, reports say that Amazon has also enlisted Vogue editor Caroline Palmer to take over the website's editorial matters.

Reports say that the new photo studio that Amazon owns features 22 photography bays, a fashion library, video editing facilities and office space. According to Contact Music, these features of the studio mirror Amazon fashion's aim to seal its commitment to compete head-to-head with other online fashion retailers.

Speaking with Evening Standard, Amazon Fashion EU vice president Sergio Bucher says, "Our aim is to make Amazon the best place to buy fashion online," adding that the opening of the London studio is the embodiment of that goal.

"Our new studio will enable us to produce more than half a million images a year," Bucher further tells the media outlet.

The launching of the studio follows after the remarkable increase in the fashion sales of the company, being able to sell more than 30 meters of clothing as well as accessories from April to June of 2015.
