The Alabama Crimson Tide upended the Clemson Tigers 45-40 to claim the national championship Monday night.
Derrick Henry scored three touchdowns, including the game-sealing score with 1:07 remaining on the clock. O.J. Howard caught five passes for a career-best 208 yards and two touchdowns.
Alabama managed to overcome a heroic effort from Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, who accounted for 478 yards and four scores.
